http://www.rutlandherald.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=201002040351 # # # # UI-4 suspect ordered to be held without bail ¶ Rutland Herald ¶ Published: February 4, 2010 ¶ SPRINGFIELD – A Springfield man who police found passed out over the steering wheel of his pickup on Eureka Road Saturday afternoon was ordered held without bail this week after he pleaded innocent to drunken driving, fourth offense, according to court records. ¶ Judge Theresa DiMauro ruled that Brian Dana, 40, "clearly poses a risk to public safety," and ordered him returned to jail for allegedly violating the terms of his probation stemming from his previous DUI convictions. ¶ Dana, who for years had been the assistant chief operator of the Springfield waste water treatment facility until his DUI convictions cost him his driving license, had been working as the general contractor for the new housing being put up by the Springfield Turning Point Club anti-addiction organization prior to his arrest last weekend, Dana's public defender, attorney Elizabeth Kruska, explained to the court. ¶ DiMauro said she would "be happy to consider" moving Dana from jail to a residential alcohol treatment program while his case is pending if he is able to secure a bed at such a facility in the weeks ahead. ¶ — Staff reports ¶
