http://www.rutlandherald.com/article/20100630/NEWS02/706309899 # # # # Weathersfield crash closes route 131 • Rutland Herald • Published: June 30, 2010 • WEATHERSFIELD - Police closed Route 131 for several hours Sunday after they said a Springfield man hit a utility pole and became trapped in his car. • Vermont State Police said Michael Hitchcock, 52, was driving his 1995 Toyota Corolla west around 5 p.m. when he lost control and struck the pole, which then fell on the car. Police said Hitchcock had to stay in the car until power was turned off. • Hitchcock was sent to Mount Ascutney Hospital with facial injuries, according to police, and the road was closed as workers removed lines from it and replaced the pole. Police said the car sustained damage to its front and roof. • The crash is still under investigation. •
