Weathersfield crash closes route 131

A Springfield man was trapped in his car after going off the road and hitting a utility pole in Weathersfield.

Police said Hitchcock had to stay in the car until power was turned off.  •  Hitchcock was sent to Mount Ascutney Hospital with facial injuries, according to police, and the road was closed as workers removed lines from it and replaced the pole. Police said the car sustained damage to its front and roof.  •  The crash is still under investigation.  •
