Springfield schools adopt new busing schedule and starting times
The Springfield School Board has adopted a new bus schedule for the coming year, a two-tiered transportation plan that will separate the older students from the younger ones, said Superintendent Frank Perotti, with the older students heading to school first.

Special day for "North Springfield's best kept secret"
Rev. Floyd McIntyre and his wife Margaret were honored Sunday morning for their 25 years of faithful service to the Advent Christian Church in North Springfield. The solemn ceremony was followed by a dignified sermon from a guest speaker. Then from the same pulpit began a slew of terrible ribbing of "Pastor Mac".

Aviation camp for kids scheduled
Hartness State Airport in North Springfield will host an Aviation Career Education 2010 day camp from Aug. 16-20 for area boys and girls ages 12 to 15. The camp will provide an opportunity to learn more about aviation through a variety of experiences.

IVEK Corp. of North Springfield plans on building what would be the state's largest solar installation next to its manufacturing facility-- 936 panels producing 2.4 megawatts, or 90 percent of its electricity needs.
