Final filings in for Bolaski trial
The State vs. Bolaski trial will begin Monday, May 9. On Thursday, the State and the defense filed separate motions regarding Vincent Tamburello's medical records. Judge Zimmerman will make a decision next week.

Apple Blossom Cotillion Promises a Look at the Past
The “Memory Lane” exhibit at the Apple Blossom Cotillion every year offers event goers a look at past Cotillions. The exhibit includes the 34 formal portraits of Apple Blossom queens since 1977 and 5 private portraits donated by queens from 1957 to 1976.

Rockingham Area Land Trust votes to dissolve
RACLT, the Springfield-based affordable housing group which owns and manages more than 500 units in Bellows Falls, Westminster, Athens and 17 other towns in two counties, has approved a plan to dissolve the organization, paving the way for Windham Housing Trust to take over most of the group’s properties.

The Vermont Drama Festival, to be held Saturday and Sunday at Springfield High School, is far from a sporting event. Everybody wins in this activity, according to area high school acting directors.
Springfield freshmen team up for no-hitter
Talk about an impressive start. Three Springfield freshmen pitchers combined to no-hit Green Mountain as the Cosmos opened the season with an 18-0 win at Bill Robinson Field Thursday afternoon.

Vietnam War forged a friendship
The town of Springfield proclaimed Wednesday “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day.” A dinner honoring them was held at VFW Post 771 that evening.
