Fiber-to-the-Home Construction Begins
Friday, 07 October 2011 13:22
Construction on VTel's fiber-to-the-home project has begun. Crews have been working diligently ever since VTel received the final state and federal approvals that paved the way for VTel to begin construction on its Wireless Open World project. With grants from the Rural Utilities Service (U.S. Department of Agriculture) as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, VTel is transitioning all of its copper telephone network to the latest fiber technology.
The time has come! A work crew hands fiber optic cable in front of the VTel main office in Springfield.
Crew foreman, Jack Blocksidge, has a lot of experience laying fiber optic cable. His crew is doing a remarkable job!
The transition of our copper telephone and internet network to state-of-the-art fiber optics is a federally funded project that is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

I wish I had known that these fiber wires were going to be so thick and ugly, and I wish we had had a chance to vote on whether or not we wanted them. We have enough wires marring our views. Now these have made it 100x worse.
ReplyDeleteI loved you post because if I hadn't read 'Bolesno Grinje', I would have been misled. You are so right in all the points you raised. staggered was cruelty masqueraded as tradition.
