Motorist with baby in car clocked at 99 mph

A motorist with a baby on board drove upward of 99 mph Monday on Interstate 91 in Springfield, Vermont State Police Trooper Jeremy Peters said in a statement Tuesday.

Milford, CT Police with assistance from the Connecticut State Police Auto Theft Task Force posed as a professional car thief in an effort to arrest a Springfield, VT man and a Milford man who were involved in an alleged theft of vehicles.

Residents urged to remove roof snow

In the wake of another large barn collapse, state agencies Tuesday urged farmers and homeowners to check their roofs and clear them of snow and ice if possible. A partial collapse of one of the free-stall barns at the Rhoman-Wai Farm in Chester killed four of the farm’s 800-head herd Tuesday.
