Boyle, of Springfield, received a number of All-America accolades last season, including All-America First Team honors from both the American Football Coaches Association and BSN. He was one of four wide receivers named to the BSN First Team. Ernest Wiggins of Husson was the only other member of the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) to receive BSN honors as he was named to the third team. In 2012, Boyle finished second in the nation in total receiving yards (1533), receiving yards per game (139.4) and seventh in receptions per game (8.7). All three were Spartan records, as were his 96 catches and 18 touchdown receptions. Boyle was also the only wide receiver in the country to record at least three games with 220 yards receiving. He enters his senior season with 2961 receiving yards and 33 career touchdowns on 205 receptions.
