Springfield Hospital Begins its Centennial Celebration Posted on 7/25/2013 SPRINGFIELD, VT - On Saturday, August 3, Springfield Hospital will begin the celebration of its 100th anniversary with a reception and ribbon cutting for its new sidewalk. The sidewalk, which will have the Hospital’s centennial logo - “100 Years of Caring” - in its curbing, is being built with funds raised in the Hospital’s current Annual Giving drive. After the ribbon cutting, guests will gather in the Hospital cafeteria to begin the six-month-long celebration of the Hospital’s 100th anniversary. A 160-page, full-color hard-cover history book will be showcased, along with a celebratory video, and a permanent wall display of the Hospital’s history. A calendar of centennial events will be presented, ending with the burial of a time capsule on the 100th anniversary of the Hospital’s first patient on March 4, 2014. Saturday’s event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Larry Kraft, Director of Development at the Hospital, 885-7644, lkraft@springfieldmed.org.
One hundred profitable more years coming as Springfield residents choke on the forthcoming air pollution from the biomess plant and are forced to seek treatment while the "professionals" working at the hospital remain silent... Will they celebrate that in the future?
ReplyDeleteNegativity can ALWAYS be counted on here! Thanks for not letting me down.
ReplyDeleteOne has to deal with reality and many times the truth is not as rosy the profiteers would have one believe. Self promotional celebrations are merely self-serving PR events to bewitch the masses while they are led into the slaughterhouse.
Delete"profiteers" ???? Ah, in case you haven't figured it out.... if there is no profit, there is no business. If there is no business, there is no society (as we have come to enjoy it). Stop with the 'greedy evil corporations' already. We're all 'greedy'. Greed is a good thing. Work hard, earn a good life!!!!
DeleteI think it is a good and safe way to get to the hospital, after all the years of not having one, when it is turned over to the town, and it takes care of it , don't complain if it is not cleaned up right away, and since it is new and the town has to take care of it, My guess they will have a ton of salt on it , thus destroying it within the first year of ownership, and adding it to the list of needed repairs for side walks the following year. I hope not ??
ReplyDeleteThank you Springfield hospital for all that you do. Springfield has had more than her share of misfortune over the last thirty years. We have lost our shops and all the good jobs that went away with them but we continue to have a fine local hospital with a skilled and caring staff. You continue to take care of our community and we appreciate it.
ReplyDelete10:16, you need to get yourself to Springfield Hospital as soon as possible and have that biomass removed from your posterior!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I come to this blog, there is an overwhelming amount of negative responses from 'Anonymous' people. I understand that everyone has concerns and opinions about what is going on in our town, but anonymously voicing these ideas in a negative way shows visitors from other cities and states just what kind of society resides in this town. Either: Own your "voice" and start a constructive dialogue, or; keep your opinions to yourself.
