Two Vermont men busted in Connecticut By Susan Smallheer Staff Writer | July 15,2013 Email Article Print Article ENFIELD, Conn. — Two Vermont men were arrested last week and charged with heroin trafficking and possession after police allegedly found close to half a pound of heroin in their possession, according to Enfield police. The two men, Thomas Arbuckle, 30, of Springfield, and Michael Kline, 41, of Chester, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Enfield Police Lt. Willie Pedemonti, and were released. Pedemonti said the more serious charge of trafficking in heroin was dismissed by the court during the two men’s arraignment. Both Arbuckle and Kline were originally charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphernalia. While originally held for lack of $25,000 bond, after their arraignment in Enfield, Conn., Superior Court, they were released, said Pedemonti. Pedemonti said he didn’t know why the heroin trafficking charges were dropped by the court or whether they would be reinstated. A Hartford County prosecutor who handled the case, Chris Parakilas, didn’t return telephone calls. Pedemonti said police had received a tip about a suspicious vehicle the night of July 1 at a McDonald’s restaurant in Enfield. Upon arrival they found one of the men standing outside a Jeep holding a bunch of empty plastic bags. Police looked in the car window and saw a syringe in plain sight, giving the police probable cause to search the vehicle, the officer said. They brought in a drug-sniffing dog, which alerted on a backpack that contained more than 400 packets of heroin, Pedemonti said. The total weight of the drugs was 7.8 ounces. The two men told police they had driven from Vermont to a location near Bradley International Airport to buy heroin and stopped at the McDonald’s on their way back to Vermont.
"Flat Landers" don't need these kind of people in their state. Kudos to the CT police.
ReplyDeleteWere they not on a buying trip?
DeleteJust a half pound of Heroin, that's all.
ReplyDeleteFinish eating yer McD's burger and go back to Springfield.
Wait wait don't forget yer heroin
Seems as that is the attitude the law is taking.
What is wrong with this picture.
They'll be dismissed because of a minor technicallity on behalf of the CT police. Same ol, same ol story.
ReplyDeleteThe trafficking charges dropped??? That would make it a federal offense. Arbuckle is a felon and these charges dropped? Once again the court system failed us. They probably went and picked something up for the ride back to Springfield.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the moral of this story?................................................................................................................................................Crime doesn't pay?.............................Nope.....Don't eat at McDonald's? Correct!
ReplyDeleteWhat these two were doing is no different than if they shot our kids. There should be no ? that they will go away for a very long time. Heroin is much more dangerous than a firearm as no one survives. Heroin also creates more pain and may take a bit longer to kill you.
ReplyDeletecan you say RAT
ReplyDeleteBrett Lawton and Thomas arbuckle scum of the earth ruin peoples life and get away with it all because they work for the feds
DeleteLOL! Wow, you are soooooo misinformed! Thomas Arbuckle DOES NOT work for the Feds!! He is sitting in a Federal Prison right now!!! You ignorant assholes.....get your facts straight before shitting all over a good man who had a bad drug problem!! Remember that His FAMILY sees all your bullshit drama!!!!!! Keep his name out of your mouths unless you are PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteI hope he stays in the federal prison! Scum bags like him are ruining what used to be a peaceful little town,
DeleteWhat if they were not caught.
ReplyDeleteDo you know how much half a pound of heroin is.
A &*%#$?G lot. Like $40,000 to $50,000 dollars.
That dope would have ended up not far from your house !!
It would have kept Springfields finest &*%#)D for quite some time. Theft and crime up to pay for it. All the while as it slowly turns "them" into zombies and finally into worm feed.
I know the USA is not like other countries ie over in Asia.
Our freedom and rights and all. BUT IF YOU GET CAUGHT WITH THAT MUCH HERION IN YOU HANDS.....Take a guess how there system works. No defense lawers, no crying, no slap on the hands. Guess what....look it up on the net if you don't know the answer.
So you want to live in China?
DeleteHere is one example of many:
ReplyDeleteSingapore is a very clean place.
A very safe place.
A very very modern place.
A wonderful place to visit.
(To hot for me though)
Why is it safe ?
Because of their response to serious crimes.
The following is a quote....
Singapore
The Misuse of Drugs Act is very strict – persons caught with at least half an ounce of heroin, at least 1 ounce of morphine or cocaine, or at least 17 ounces of marijuana are presumed to be trafficking in drugs, and face a mandatory death penalty. 400 people were hanged for drug trafficking in Singapore between 1991 and 2004.
You get shot, hung or worse.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.....something to think of. Takes care of the problem pretty quick I would imagine.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot to say...
ReplyDeleteWhy is Singapore a very clean place ?
Because if you get caught spitting gum on the sidewalk....
You get 40 lashes with a bamboo cane.
(Remember that happened a few years ago)(Not fun)
So, when in Singapore...Remember to...
KEEP YER GUM IN YER MOUTH
AND DON'T MESS AROUND WITH DRUGS !!!
Unless you want to "hang" around with the other druggies.
to bad dont know the difference between half ounce and half pound silly people comments out of control again
