Report: Substation gate lacked signs

Warning signs were missing from the gate to the Green Mountain Power substation, where a Springfield boy was severely injured in May.

  2. Where were his good parents? You can't fix stupid. You can't make everything perfectly safe. How many people jump off bridges every year. Maybe we need to put signs up on them that the impact with the water or rocks may be fatal.

  4. Please. This child is old enough to be in his neighborhood unsupervised. Parents can't be with their children all the time! Obviously, this was a poor choice on his part, but he is a CHILD, they are known to make foolish, impulsive decisions. Come to think of it, there are some adults who do the same....

    Lay off this family.

  7. The child obviously lacked both judgment skills and respect for prohibited entrance.

    If they receive a settlement award, I will immediately file suit for lost production when I had to shut down and send my employees home early.

    Ian's parents should count their blessings and make a formal, public apology to the entire community. I wont hold my breath.
