This Just In Sex offender registers in Colchester August 05,2013 Rutland Herald AP FILE PHOTO This undated file photo provided by the Vermont Department of Corrections shows Timothy J. Szad. By Susan Smallheer Staff Writer Convicted high-risk sex offender Timothy Szad has registered with the Vermont sex offender registry, and he is living in the Chittenden County town of Colchester. Szad, 53, whose family lives in Springfield, had been slated to live with his parents in Springfield once he was released from prison 10 days ago. Szad went to California at his release, but he returned to Vermont Sunday night, and following state sex offender protocol, registered within 24 hours. One state officials, Jeff Wallin of the Vermont Offender Registry, refused to say where Szad was living, saying that Szad had registered as "homeless" and living in Chittenden County. Szad was sentenced in 2001 of sexually assaulting a disabled 13-year-old boy in Rockingham. He received a 7 to 20-year sentence, was released after serving 13 years due to credit for good behavior.
Good job, people! Now you've got a "high risk sex offender" wandering the streets homeless. That really makes me feel safe.
ReplyDeleteAs if you were safe now with all the gang activity.
DeleteThat's right, because our gangs here in Springfield are so rough, tough and dangerous they feel the need to rip up flower beds....what a joke,,,,there just punks,,,,what's next for this tough gang,,,ding dong ditch!! OHHH NOOO!!!
DeleteSuuuure... ripping up flower beds, selling drugs, shooting at each other down town. No problem here, put your head back in the sand Anon 2:2PM.
DeleteIf you READ the article, he is in COLCHESTER. Not Springfield.
ReplyDeleteRegardless, he's back in VT not in CA.
DeleteColchester today, Springfield tomorrow. The California story was likely a ruse anyway, just to try to calm fears so that the system could spit him out without much public dissent.
ReplyDeleteWhere's Bernnie? Where's Alice Emmons? Where's Dick McCormack? Oh, that's right Timothy Szad being a homosexual, gay man, is no doubt a card carrying liberal now sustaining himself off the welfare roles. Wouldn't want their voter base leaving the state.
ReplyDeleteThis comment doesn't make sense. What would you have Bernie, Emmons or McCormack do? Hunt him down vigilante style? Everyone's angry/disappointed that this sick man didn't get life behind bars, save your eloquent critic of "liberal" politics for Storm Front, Machinist. The worst thing about this story is that it received so much press. Hopefully the family and the young man hurt have salvaged some form of peace over the last 12 years.
Deletewho said he was a homosexual gay man?
Deletethe registry says hyde park
ReplyDeleteMachinist's point was that Bernie, Dick, and Alice will never raise a finger to legislate to protect society from such disgusting threats. Their politics enable such behavior.
ReplyDeleteWell, if you are going to label him use the correct one please. He is a pedophile.
DeleteAlice Emmons has specifically spoken out against a Civil Commitment law of the type existing in most states (however not in Vermont) which aim to protect potential targets. Ms Emmons seems to feel it is more important to protect the potential predator. There is a video posted somewhere on this site where she herself speaks. It's worth watching.
ReplyDeleteShe has the typical progressive liberal attitude toward offenders.
