Golf Tournament Helps Springfield Hospital Posted on 10/3/2013 SPRINGFIELD, VT - Several golfers came close but no one won the $100,000 prize for a hole in one at the special “centennial” edition of the annual Springfield Hospital Challenge at Okemo Valley Golf Club on Thursday, September 19th. This year’s tournament helped celebrate Springfield Hospital’s 100th anniversary and contributed to its Centennial Campaign for Emergency Care. More than 100 golfers competed for team and individual awards and raffle prizes. 30 sponsoring organizations underwrote the tournament, which included a box lunch, dinner buffet, complimentary refreshments on the course, and a gift to every golfer of a deluxe golf umbrella. Tournament sponsors included Black River Produce, Comtu Falls Corporation, Coverys, Griffin Construction, Hackett Valine & MacDonald, Richard Marasa MD, and Springfield Printing. Club professional, Michael Santa Maria, and the excellent Okemo staff took very good care of the golfers and made the event an overall success.
