Published October 5, 2013 in the Rutland Herald Phantoms slip Springfield BOYS SOCCER Proctor 1, Springfield 0 SPRINGFIELD — Curtis Tomlinson scored on a rare opportunity for the Phantoms as they edged the Cosmos to improve to 5-2-3. Springfield dominated the game statistically but the Phantoms got the only goal midway through the second half. Springfield had 26 shots to six for the Phantoms. “It’s been a bunch of issues,” Cosmos coach Paul Kendall said of his team’s 2-7-1 season, “but the kids showed up (to play) today. It was a tough loss but we’ll keep moving on.” Reid Farley had six saves in the Proctor nets while Jon Hildreth made only one for the Cosmos, who will host Mill River at 6 p.m. Monday.
