Bergen County police officer seizes 2 illegal guns, arrests 3 in Palisades Park traffic stop Posted by: Jerry DeMarco Tags: BCPD, Bergen, Bergen County, Bergen County police, Bergen County Police Department, Bergen County police gun arrest, Bergen County police gun seizure, Jersey City, Palisades Park Posted date: January 28, 2014 | No comment YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Bergen County Police officer found two illegal handguns, along with more than $6,000 in cash, in a car he pulled over for making unsafe lane charges in Palisades Park, authorities said today. Three people were arrested, two of them from Jersey City. Bergen County Police Department (PHOTO by Boyd A. Loving) It brought the total to four the total number of firearms recovered by the Bergen County Police Department during traffic stops in just over a month. BCPD Officer Fred Rivera stopped the red Honda Civic on westbound Route 46 Monday night, Capt. James Mullin told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon. Rivera grew suspicious “when the three occupants of the vehicle provided him with conflicting and inconsistent answers to his questions,” Mullin said, so he requested and obtained written consent to search the car. In the truck the officer found the cash, along with a Sig Sauer P228 9mm and a Davis Industries P380 .380 cal., also known as a Saturday Night Special, the captain said. All three occupants denied ownership, Mullin said. They were taken into custody, he said. The cash was seized and the guns sent to the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office for ballistics testing to determine whether they were stolen or used in previous crimes, the captain said. The driver, 23-year-old Natausha L. Bourquin of Springfield, Vt. (top, left), and passengers Crystal L. Canas, 21, and 33-year-old Manuel Robles, both of Jersey City, were charged with two counts each of unlawful possession of a firearm. Robles, in addition was charged with hindering arrest by identifying himself as someone else. Detainers were also placed on him for skipping court once in Hoboken and twice in Jersey City, records show. Bourquin received a traffic summons, as well, Mullin said. All three remained at the Bergen County Jail this afternoon on $50,000 bail each. (MUGSHOTS: Courtesy BERGEN COUNTY SHERIFF)
Kudos to the officer who made these arrest, they should be charging her with a straw purchase and she should be made an example of. The guns are from VT heading to NJ for drugs coming back to destroy our children here. Hold her accountable !
ReplyDeleteA white chick from Vermont, and a black and hispanic guy from NJ??? So which is it---sex or drugs?? Hint, hint.....
ReplyDeleteI wonder what she was doing in New Jersey? I know now she is someone's sweetheart in prison. Who's watching her daughter?
ReplyDeleteA couple of months in weekly group therapy meetings and this behavior can be solved... at least that is what I was told......
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell is happening to this town...SMH.
ReplyDeleteWhy do we condone a legal system that willfully unleashes addicts that have to support a $100+/day habit? Bad enough they are allowed to remain at large, but an incompetent parole system can't keep tabs on them. Nor is the threat of serving out their full sentence for parole violation a deterrent, because it never happens.
ReplyDeleteFrustrated at reading of these repeat arrests? Disgusted at having your car and home broken into? Seeing those responsible idly wandering the streets with impunity while you work like a dog to fund their EBT cards, housing, health care, and child care? Well, if you voted to send a full contingent of liberal representatives and law makers to Montpelier, you have only yourself to blame. Now got exactly the government you deserve!
RE: to The Machinist 8:47 pm:
DeleteI agree with you 1000% and I am glad that you have put it out there so blunt that others will see this and agree!! On the flip side of this, how do we (the small peon tax payers in this town) make a stand and do something about this? I am sick to death or working my tail bone off- all so others can sit around, do nothing eat free food, have a free cell phone, free housing (or almost free) and do drugs all day long! I am wound on this subject- and honestly fed up to the max with this….sorry I have worked my butt off my entire life (without having ANY parents at all!!) to have a house that I call home and all to pay thousands in property taxes year after year for people to sit around and collect of our dimes…..nope, no sympathy and If I can do it and make something of myself- ANYONE can! It is time that this ends and our tax dollars go elsewhere much needed!!!! The question is how do we do this- to make a difference and have people listen?? Seriously, I am all in!!!
Signed a very angry and defeated tax payer!!!
If you house them they will come. If you feed them they will procreate more of their kind. It is time we got the bleeding hearts out of government.
ReplyDeleteI would rather my young children play with loaded guns than ever try heroin.
Well, 1:09, you might as well scatter the guns around your house.
DeleteHeroin, like any other substance, does not affect all people the same way, primarily because a lot of people who would try it would think, "Well, forget about that." As with smoking, people generally have to be predisposed to become users, and probably most of them do with the idea that they will always be able to control it. Just like smoking.
The real problem of course is the profits to be made by selling it when it is illegal. Abusers of alcohol do far more damage to society, but heroin users per person do far more damage than any alcoholic.
So, "procreate more of their kind" is closing a door that would lead to better strategies for dealing with the drugs and gangs problem.
It's time to organize protests outside the offices or residences of those who truly responsible for the woes of the town and state:

Should I bring my hood or hoody ?
DeleteI think one of the best ways to solve this problem is to open your mouth and use your voice as load as you can.never stand idly bye when you see or hear these addicts and loafers is to keep reporting it.call the news if the police or the courts arent doing thier jobs.this seriously needs to end.and for the loafers that come for the housing and ebt cards make them wait and work for it.if they come to vermont looking for a hand out and dont get it right away.guess what.they will go right back to where they came from...
