Vermonters voice skepticism about Entergy’s deal

Dozens of Vermonters urged the state Public Service Board on Tuesday night to be wary of the promises made by Entergy Corp. regarding the shutdown of the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant.

In it's usual biased, alarmist fashion, the media has headlined this story in a way that would lead the casual observer to think that the vast majority of the state's citizens are voicing "skepticism about Entergy's deal". Then you cut to the chase. It's only "dozens", but the writer fails to inform us how many dozen. Would that be a mere two dozen, or twelve dozen, or a thousand dozen.

    Shabby reporting like this is what is driving up the anxiety levels across our society. It doesn't need to be that way, but the media isn't interested in reporting on facts any more. They're just tawdry muckrakers.
