  1. i would think that the banks could be in trouble for letting them take the money back

  2. How is this legal? What a horrible company to treat their employees this way. And to cancel benefits without notice? How are the banks allowing this to happen? It seems incredibly wrong for any company to not compensate for hours worked. There must be employment laws which prohibit this. Someone needs to file a class action lawsuit with includes all employees in VT, NJ, NY and OR. And this needs to be national news.

  3. In our case, our bank was great and credited the account back once they realized what had happened. But I put blame on the payroll company, they are the ones who debited the account..which I have no idea how they were able to do that but they did. Its pretty scary when u check your bank account expecting to have a paycheck deposited but instead your last weeks paycheck was gone.

  4. Are there any updates on this case? Are the Vermont workers making any progress reclaiming wages due? Is that even possible once a company is taken over by a bank?

    1. So far its all a waiting game. My Fiance is one of the ones who lost his job and its been a tough could weeks. Unemployment wont start coming in until the 29th and the lost wages? who knows if we will ever see that. Its too bad that this didn't get more attention, I don't think it even made it to TV..only in the local newspapers. I was hoping it would bring a lot of attention and maybe things would get done faster.
