WEST RUTLAND — Ed Shambo had four hits and was the winning pitcher as the Cosmos had no trouble dispatching the Golden Horde in a game shortened to five innings by the mercy rule. Josh River had a home run and a triple for Springfield, which improved to 6-2.
Jacob Dow singled in the lone Horde run. Dillon Notte took the loss for West Rutland which, at 3-5, hosts Proctor on Thursday.
