SPRINGFIELD — Springfield High School Driver Education students will soon be operating a new 2015 GMC Terrain thanks to a generous donation by Springfield Automart. The students would like to say thank you to the dealership for making their driving experience in a new vehicle a positive one. The students will be able to see firsthand some of the new technology GM has to offer. As the school year begins, students have been learning many of the risks associated with driving. This includes younger students walking along sidewalks in close proximity to Union and Elm Hill elementary schools. Children can be unpredictable and slowing down when approaching them and covering the brake is a technique all drivers should remember to do. We would like to remind all drivers to use caution when driving in close proximity to children and/or schools. The students would also like to thank drivers for showing extra patience when they see the driver education vehicle on the road. Remember courtesy is contagious!
