  1. Vermont backslides toward the Third World, courtesy of America-haters Obama, Sanders, Leahy, and the rest of the Demonrats. All while they all remain snugly in their Washington, DC cocoons. Wake the hell up Vermonters!

Yup, good to see the Koch brothers-funded Watchdog is still doing what it can to spread fear and generate hate.

Testing positive for TB does not mean a person HAS TB; only that he/she could develop it if their immune system fails. My dad tested positive for TB all his life and never was a health threat to others. Knowing that he tested positive, his doctor was mindful about illnesses that might trigger it-- and it would have been caught in plenty of time.

We are not backsliding toward the Third World by accepting refugees but by letting Wall Street take our pay raises, our homes, our courts and our government. The health status of refugees is another diversion planted by the right-wing billionaires of Jane Mayer's book, "Dark Money."

  5. Fearmongering? Tell us Chuck, have you ever spent time in a third world hell hole and seen first hand the hideous effects of contagious disease? Ever see a child that wont reach adulthood with a terminal respiratory disease? I have, and I'll put you on notice, if this element is allowed to set up camp in Vermont and anyone in my family is impacted, there will be dire repercussions. How great a liberal martyr do you want to be? Also, before handing out reading lists for publications you've never seen, how about refreshing you history studies on why LEGAL immigrants where "vetted" at Ellis Island.

  6. Vermont's agrarian presence continues to wane, but for one element - the many jackasses that continue to vote for the American-hating candidates of the Democrat Party, whose "progressive" positions on euthanasia now also extend to national suicide. Future generations of Americans are about to suffer from the rampaging return of illnesses once virtually erradicated in the U.S., TB among them. Just look forward to a pot poire of maladies that will result in early graves for our children's children and beyond, all compliments of the Jackass party of sorry idealists who were willing to fritter away our national health and wealth to further their lies and enrich themselves. They're all returnimg: mumps, measles, whooping cough, polio, plague, and worse, courtesy of the liars and the lemmings like Chuck and his fellow liberal fools.

2:09, these refugees have been screened for TWO YEARS. I can assure you, none of them is coughing blood.

Last year, the Vermont Department of Health identified half a dozen kids in one school who tested positive for TB, and they deported them to Moldavia, the country their immigrant great-grandparents came from.

    Not really.

They merely followed public health protocol, which is to notify the family physician that so-and-so tested positive. We can assume that if they have accessible and affordable health care, they will NEVER be an active TB vector.

The ones you should fear are the active drug-resistant TB cases that have been in the state for years. They are followed EXTREMELY closely by VDH to ensure that they do not become contagious. Unfortunately, since they are mostly Christian and white, you're probably not going to worry about them.

Sorry that you don't have the appetite to learn more about the subject. Knowledge has a tendency to replace blind fear with rational strategizing.
