Two-by-four used to threaten women

A Springfield man threatened two women in Cornish, NH with a two-by-four, and then assaulted a man, police said.

Police said Sumner then went to 121 Harrington Road where he assaulted Stevie Lee Ross by grabbing him. • Sumner was arrested on two counts of criminal threatening and one charge of simple assault. He is free on $10,000 personal recognizance bail and is to be arraigned March 8 in Claremont District Court. • Responding to the incident were officers from New Hampshire State Police, Sullivan County Sheriff's Department, and Cornish, Plainfield and Claremont police departments.
