Elks hold 3rd annual winter coat drive


The Springfield Elks held their third annual Winter Coat drive for the Springfield Family Center.

They have gathered close to 500 good winter coats since Elks chairman Dick Robbins came up with the idea three years ago. This year they received 125 coats, and many scarfs, mittens, boots and hats. The donations were received from local Elks members and residents. The coats will now be dry cleaned and handed out to local needy families. The Elks would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who participated to this fine cause.
