Springfield market robbed Sunday
SPRINGFIELD — An armed robbery held up the cashier at Jasinski’s Park Street Market on Sunday evening, Springfield Police said Monday.
No one was injured in the robbery, in which the suspect showed the cashier a gun, according to Springfield Police Chief Douglas Johnston.
Johnston said an undisclosed amount of cash was taken in the robbery, which occurred at 7:54 p.m.
He said that the robber was described as being 5 feet, 8 inches tall to 6 feet tall. He said the robber was wearing a gray sweatshirt, with a black jacket over it.
He said the robber left on foot through the parking lot at the store, which is located in a residential neighborhood.
Johnston refused to identify the cashier.
He said police haven’t made any arrests in last month’s armed robbery at the Rite Aid Pharmacy in the Springfield Shopping Plaza, and he said it was too soon to say if there was any connection.
He said that anyone who has any information about the robbery should call Springfield Police at 885-2113.
