Maine's poet laureate draws upon difficult years in Springfield, Vermont

More details about his Springfield years - In 2006, Wesley McNair put together My Life as a Poet: A Multimedia Memoir, which uses scanned images of photographs, letters, manuscript pages, even old report cards, to tell the story of how a kid who grew up poor in Newport, Springfield, Vt., and West Claremont became one of New England's most highly regarded poets.
