Energy project files for CPG, joint venture announced

The North Springfield Sustainable Energy Project which seeks to develop a 25-35 megawatt woodchip-burning electric generating plant has taken another big step.

  1. Directly from the propaganda of the Springfield Regional Development Corporation: “I am convinced that this project, which will bring clean power and green jobs to the Springfield area..."

    It's burning and emitting, BUT, it's not burning oil or gas, so it must therefore be absolutely and enquivocally CLEAN AND GREEN!?!?!

  2. i'm concerned as well. we are downwind of this plant. is there any environmental impact studies? why is there no talk of this.

  3. There's no talk because they don't want any objections or 'concerns' by petty citizens to be raised. If you have concerns, you must speak up now.
    This town is so desperate for jobs, they'll take anything (witness the promiseland of the prison and all the wealth and wellness it has brought to the community).
    It may be slightly better alternative to current options, but will we see lower utility costs because of this? Not likely. The profits will be privatized and any negative fallout (i.e. air pollution, rising costs of wood, heat) will be left to the public.
