Got rain? Workshop TONIGHT
Marie Levesque Caduto teaches all about rain gardens at the Springfield Town Library (43 Main St) on Thursday, Feb 2 at 6:30 p.m. For those of you who have not been blessed yet to meet Marie, she is our wonderful Watershed Coordinator with the VT Watershed Management Division! Marie's practical and affable nature make this workshop a pleasure -- come on by and learn how you can manage storm water on your own property, and keep your lawn from becoming a swamp when it rains. Free community dinner
The Baptist Church at 69 Main St in North Springfield hosts a free dinner for everyone on Friday, Feb 3 from 5 - 7 p.m.. Enjoy casseroles, baked beans, soups, salads, desserts and of course beverages. The church is handicapped accessible, so bring a friend or neighbor. Call (802) 886-8107 for more information.
Bring Your Child to the Library Day

Art and chocolate!
Stop in at the Gallery at the VAULT, located at 68 Main St in downtown Springfield, on Saturday, Feb. 4 for an event to tickle your senses. Enjoy the art, the company, and...the chocolate! It's the VAULT's annual free chocolate tasting event; from noon till 5 p.m., sample the luscious wares of over 20 chocolatiers from Vermont and New Hampshire.
Book sale
The Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, located at 90 Park St in Springfield, is holding a book sale from 8 a.m. till noon on Saturday, Feb. 4. Prices range from 25 cents for paperbacks to 50 cents for hardcovers and kids' books; other items will be sold as marked. VCR tapes, cassettes and records will also be for sale. Springfield Town Library seeks kids
Are you in grade 5 or higher? Come to the library at 43 Main St on Feb. 7 at 3:45 p.m. for the first meeting of the Junior Friends of the Springfield Town Library! Members help with children's activities, plan the young adult summer reading program, give input on young adult book purchases, and more. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month from 3:45 - 4:30 p.m.
