The Compass
A Visit With Abraham Lincoln
Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Springfield Town Library
Matching Lincoln's height and beard, Steve Wood bears enough of a resemblance to our 16th president to make heads turn even when not wearing black trousers, vest, frock coat, and stovepipe hat. His first-person historical interpretation includes anecdotes from Lincoln's visit to NH, stories of his early life, campaign debates with Stephen Douglas, and the Civil War that followed his election to the Presidency.
Steve has been featured in New Hampshire magazine, on WMUR (NH) Chronicle, WCVB (Boston) Chronicle and New Hampshire Public Radio's Front Porch and The Exchange. He was named as the Editor's Pick for "Best Lincoln Look-Alike" in New Hampshire magazine's "Best of NH" issue in July 2002. There will be time set aside for a question and answer session with Steve at the end of the program. For more information please call the library at 885-3108 or visit www.springfieldtownlibrary.org.
