Two workshops aimed at helping prepare emergency plans for preserving important records will take place in southern Vermont next month.
The Vermont Historical Records Advisory Board is partnering with the Northeast Document Conservation Center to host the workshops.
The workshops are April 3 at the Bennington Free Library in Bennington and April 23 at the River Valley Technical Center in Springfield.
“These one-day workshops are intended to provide participants with the necessary tools to develop effective emergency plans and to implement those plans efficiently when needed,” Secretary of State James Condos said in a statement.
The curriculum is geared toward staff and volunteers at archives, town offices, historical societies, libraries, and any other institution that maintains historical records.
Registration for the workshops can be made through the NEDCC website: www.nedcc.org/preservation-training/vermont-program. The registration fee is $25.
