SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Community Farmers Market is geared up for opening day on May 31, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Market will continue every Saturday until Apple Festival in the fall. Once again, the market will be in downtown Springfield, located in the People’s United Bank Lot.
There are a large variety of locally grown and made products available at the market. One vendor that is returning is Moore Pies and Cookies. Steve and Joan Moore will once again be bringing their homemade products to the market. They will be selling both 6 and 10 inch pies including apple (both old-fashioned and sugar free,) apple with a crumb topping, raspberry, blackberry, maple cream and rhubarb. Also Steve and Joan will be selling Joan’s homemade molasses, chocolate chip peanut butter, and snicker doodles. There will also be homemade holiday and filled cookies.
Steve and Joan enjoy the market atmosphere and seeing and visiting with the other vendors every week. . Steve and Joan say they also love meeting and talking with customers. They have developed good friendships with vendors and customers over their 14 years of being in business and their continuing participation with the Community Farmer’s Market. Both Steve and Joan find it very rewarding to sell things made with their own hands.
Please make sure to visit with Steve and Joan on May 31 (and all the other days of the market.
