WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A Springfield teenager accused of stealing the gun police believe was used by a former New Jersey resident in a June 11 Springfield shooting was back in court Monday.
Police accused Alexander Jillson-Corbosiero, 18, of violating pre-trial release conditions that were spelled out at his arraignment 10 days ago.
Jillson-Corbosiero pleaded innocent Monday to two counts of violating conditions and to one count of misdemeanor possession of marijuana before he was released again on the same conditions after signing for a $2,000 unsecured appearance bond.
Detectives have alleged that Jillson-Corbosiero stole a .45 caliber handgun from his stepfather’s residence and that Leon Jiggetts, who is in jail awaiting trial for attempted second-degree murder, then used that gun to shoot teenage drug gang member Joseph “Black” Atkinson in the abdomen. Atkinson is recuperating at a medical facility in his home state of New Jersey and is due back in Vermont later this year to face a heroin possession charge.
In addition to the latest misdemeanor charges, Jillson-Corbosiero is awaiting trial on felony counts of aiding in an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aiding in a home invasion and acting as an accessory after the fact.
During Jillson-Corbosiero’s arraignment June 27, Judge Karen Carroll ordered from the bench that the teenager stay inside his mother’s residence 24 hours a day while his cases are pending and “that he not leave that residence except for court, legal, employment, school or medical appointments and ... if the defendant is outside his residence on one of those exceptions that he have written proof of that on his person.”
Springfield Police described Jillson-Corbosiero as “evasive and flippant” when they questioned him late Saturday morning as to why he was sitting outside the Wolson Block in downtown Springfield when he was supposed to be under curfew several streets away.
“(He) stated that his attorney told him that as long as his mother gave him permission, he could be out of his house for a couple hours,” Officer Robert Kelcey wrote in his affidavit. Kelcey reported that after police handcuffed him, Jillson-Corbosiero “stated that he had pot in his pocket” and Officer Larry Muldoon removed two bags of marijuana weighing approximately 40 grams from Jillson-Corbosiero’s left rear pocket.
Wait for it............We could have never seen this one coming. Lock the little waste of skin up and be done with it. He was described as "flippant & evasive." You are kidding me!!!! How could that be. He sounds like such a likeable character LOL. What he needs is a swift kick in the arse around the block a few times. Send him home with the Judge who let him go free.
ReplyDeleteJudge KC lets him out again. How many more times will she slap his wrist?
ReplyDeleteWhy won't our judges enforce anything?
ReplyDeleteJudge Carroll, thanks for your mercy on my neighbor. I realize you have taken lots of flack over doing this. I am wondering how much longer you can make these fine rulings from Wonderland. Hopefully one of these fine citizens you are coddling will move in next to you and your views of Wonderland will change. How about a bit of reality in my neighborhood?
ReplyDeleteWhy bother going to court? Just write it down, slap him on the ass and everyone get back to business. It's a waste of gasoline driving to White River and back. I don't understand, I just don't understand.
ReplyDeleteLet's fire all the Police. Might as well when you can't get felons in jail thanks to our judges.
ReplyDeleteThe police do their job, it's the judicial system that has failed us.
DeleteJudge Carroll needs to be fired.
ReplyDeleteSend Judge Carroll to jail for fraud. That's what these type of rulings are.
ReplyDeleteWhat am I supposed to do with my good kids? Lock them up inside my own house? These kids are poisoning our family members, yet they get treated better than someone who gets a parking ticket.
ReplyDeleteThese felons are KILLING our children. What does Judge Carroll not understand.
ReplyDeleteTo bad Judge Carroll does not read these blogs...:-(

ReplyDeleteHey hey, Ho Ho, Judge Carroll's got to go.
ReplyDeleteIf we can't get President O to uphold the Constitution and protect our borders, what do we expect of Judge Carroll? We are rotting from within.
ReplyDeleteHow about a timeout for the rascal!
ReplyDeleteJudge Roy Bean was a hanging judge. Judge Karen Carroll is a hugging judge. Welcome to the world that progressivism has delivered, with appropriate thanks to all you Democrat voters!
ReplyDeleteHe was back in court on Monday and at Family Dollar today. What part of 24/7 does he not understand?
