BELLOWS FALLS — Two Springfield men were arrested by Vermont State Police Friday on drug charges, and one man collapsed at the state police barracks in Rockingham and was taken to the hospital.
Vermont State Police said John Johnston, 33, of Springfield was taken to Springfield Hospital after he became unconscious at the police barracks. Police said he was charged with possession of suspected bath salts. The Springfield Hospital spokeswoman was unavailable for comment on Johnston’s condition.
Johnston was a passenger in a car operated by Nicholas Putnam, 30, also of Springfield. Police said they stopped Putnam’s 2000 Lincoln Navigator on School Street for a minor traffic violation. Police that Putnam gave them a false name, but investigation revealed his name. Police said a search of Putnam’s vehicle yielded drug contraband including glass pipes, baggies and lighters. About 30 grams of suspected bath salts were also found.
Both were given citations to appear in court on Nov. 25.

It's really nice to see that these people that were busted in the big drug bust are still getting busted. Nice try on the fake name. Keep letting them back on the streets. Doesn't this Putnam fellow have a bunch of children? They must be proud of their dad! Keep it classy!
