for Oct. 25
SPRINGFIELD — The 62nd annual Springfield Rotary Club Penny Sale will be held Oct. 25 at Riverside Middle School.
The sale, which starts at 7 p.m., is a major fundraiser for the club’s programs and activities, including its annual college scholarships given to Springfield High School seniors.
The Rotary Club has raised more than $500,000 since it started the Penny Sale, and has donated $180,000 in scholarships.
The culmination of the event is a drawing for a grand prize of $5,000 in cash, and there will be a door prize winner, as well as other cash prizes.
People may buy the grand prize tickets in advance of the Penny Sale, from any Springfield Rotarian.
There will be more than 300 prizes available, and it costs just a penny per prize to play the game. Many of the prizes are in the $25 to $50 range, and some worth as much as $300.
