Springfield Police Sgt. Jon Molgano said several officers responded to Mineral Street late Sunday afternoon after neighbors said they could hear Dwight Bundy screaming he was not going to leave his girlfriend’s apartment. Allegedly, he said he would stab her if she called for help. “The caller reported (to us) that she heard the same thing going on the previous night and she stated she was tired of the fighting,” Molgano wrote in an affidavit. Bundy pleaded innocent to misdemeanor possession of a narcotic on Monday afternoon and was ordered held without bail. Molgano said when he entered the apartment Sunday, he found Bundy in the kitchen and immediately arrested him without incident. Bundy had an outstanding arrest warrant on file for allegedly having violated his probation on a previous conviction for domestic violence. A search of Bundy’s person once he was in handcuffs turned up three knives, including one that was concealed as part of a money clip, along with a lighter and a hollow metal pipe that contained two grams of the narcotic crystals known as bath salts, the affidavit said. “While interacting with Bundy, he expressed several times that he needs to be put into a drug rehabilitation program for heroin and bath salts dependency,” Molgano wrote. “He informed me of the difficulties that he has encountered due to lack of insurance. He asked me what he had to do to get treatment, inquiring whether he essentially needs to flip-out (in order to be taken seriously),” Molgano wrote.“(Bundy) appeared to be very frustrated by the lack of help and indicated that he needs to get clean for (the sake of) his child.” After Judge Karen Carroll ordered Bundy held without bail Monday because of his repeated probation failures, she said she would agree to move him to a residential treatment in the meantime if efforts to secure him a bed at such a facility were to prove successful.
It's official, Hell has froze over. Judge Karen Carroll has sent an addict to jail without bail!
