Springfield Automart donates new car for driver's education SPRINGFIELD — Springfield High School Driver Education students will be driving a brand new 2015 GMC Terrain, courtesy of Springfield Automart this spring. The new vehicle has a backup camera, which will give students experience with new technology. On behalf of Springfield High School and student drivers, Kevin Anderson thanks Springfield Automart for their generosity. The three in-vehicle instructors, Karin Robbins, Larry Partridge and Anderson, would like to express they appreciation to the motoring public for your patience with the student drivers. Motorists often have to wait while a student performs various driving skills. This patience teaches a very important skill to the student driver, courtesy on our highways. HCRS welcomes new staff SPRINGFIELD — Health Care Rehabilitation Services recently welcomed the following new employees (from left): Monica Howe, residential specialist in Bellows Falls; Dorothy Moffitt, community outreach specialist in Hartford; Sharon Russell, licensed practical nurse in Brattleboro; Adele Lieberman, employment specialist in Hartford; and Elisabeth Keith, children’s intern in Hartford. HCRS is a multi-faceted, nonprofit, community mental health agency serving residents of Windham and Windsor counties since 1967. Employers sought for 2015 Spring Employment Fair SPRINGFIELD — The River Valley Workforce Investment Board is seeking employers to exhibit in the fourth annual River Valley Employment Fair, which will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, at the Riverside Middle School gymnasium in Springfield. Employers with anticipated job openings are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot. The fair is a joint effort between the River Valley Workforce Investment Board (WIB), the Vermont Department of Labor, Creative Workforce Solutions, Springfield Regional Development Corporation and the River Valley Technical Center (RVTC). The event is aimed at connecting local job seekers with seasonal and permanent jobs in our area and to showcase resources and training programs that will help job seekers attain employment. Fair organizers are actively are looking for local employers with job opportunities, especially those who gear up in the spring and summer.
