SPRINGFIELD, VT -On Sunday March 8th, the 3rd Annual Taste of Winter Market returns to Springfield Area Parent Child Center. The Springfield Stringers with George Ainley on fiddle were a musical highlight with at last year’s event, and we look forward to welcoming them back again along with folk singer/songwriter Elizabeth Rogers and cellist Eugene Friesen.
Elizabeth Rogers, singer-songwriter, originally hails from New York and has performed internationally for over 25 years. She has recorded 2 CDs of her original folk music and is often compared to Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell. Liz is thrilled to be performing with multi-Grammy award winner Eugene Friesen, longtime cellist with the Paul Winter Consort who is known for his innovative playing technique and extraordinary musicality. For more information see www.elizabethrogers.com and www.eugenefriesenmusic.com.
Live Music is not the only attraction at this event; local vendors will be selling their wares ranging from fresh eggs, baked goods, jams and relish, wooden bowls, paper crafts, handmade jewelry, knit goods, and more.
SAPCC staff will also be on hand to provide tours of the center and can answer questions about our services. Free Children’s activities will be conducted and Mona from Body Art by Mona will once again be offering her artistic face painting for the young and young at heart!
Some of the regular vendors from the Springfield Farmer’s Market will be set up at the Taste of Winter Market. Farmer’s Market Vendors will have available some of the same products that they have at their summer market in downtown Springfield. There will be pies and cookies, fresh eggs, doughnuts, baked goods made with local honey and maple syrup, jams and relishes, artisan breads and more. Also available will be handcrafts of lathe-turned wooden bowls, jewelry for children and adults as well as many other crafts.
And finally, making a return this year we will be holding the popular “The Best Ever Brownie Baking Contest” with prizes provided by King Arthur Flour. Limited vender space still available - for more information or to receive the official rules and entry form for the contest please visit our website: www.sappc-vt.org or give Jan Zona a call at 802-886-5242 x245.
So, please come out and join us for a fun filled Sunday Afternoon at SAPCC’s Taste of Winter Market on Sunday, March 8th, from 2 -4 p.m
