Police are investigating a shooting that happened near 181 South Street in Springfield this evening. Police are looking for a later model black Nissan Infiniti with Vermont plates possibly with Vermont Strong on the front.
The shooting took place under the pine tree visible in this photo.
UPDATE 9:30 PM: At approximently 6 p.m. today, five shots were fired at Wesley Wing, age 37, of Springfield. He was hit in the stomach. Wing was able to get to Jake's Market, a short distance from the shooting, where help was quickly summoned. Wing was transported by ambulance to Springfield Hospital and then airlifted to Dartmouth Hospital for surgery. He is listed in critical condition at this time. The shooter fled the scene and has not been found.

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. —Police are investigating a shooting that happened near 181 South Street in Springfield, Vermont this evening.
Authorities have asked people in the area of South Street between Cardinal Drive and Davis Street to be extremely cautious.
Springfield Police tell us they're looking for a newer model black Infiniti.
Investigators are not releasing many other details, but we do know that multiple officers and agencies have been called to the scene.
Police have not said if any arrests have been made or if anyone has been hurt.
