SPRINGFIELD — The Vermont Urban and Community Forestry Program is seeking Vermonters interested in being involved in local forestry projects and issues.
Training is available through the Stewardship of the Urban Landscape Tree Stewards course for anyone who would like to be an advocate for the trees, forests and green spaces in their community.
Classes will be held at the University of Vermont Extension office in Springfield, located at 307 South St., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 3 and Oct. 24, and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Oct. 7 and Oct. 14.
The fee is $50 if paid by Sept. 25 and rises to $60 after that date. It covers course materials and lunch on the full-day sessions. Preregistration is required.
