Rockslide damages cars, shuts down one lane on I-91
ROCKINGHAM - Interstate 91 southbound between Springfield and Rockingham is down to one lane due to a rock slide and Vermont State Police are urging motorists to use caution in the area and find alternate routes.
Police said that five vehicles, as well as a tractor-trailer unit, were damaged in the rock slide, which initially closed both lanes of traffic during the early morning hours Thursday . The highway has since been reopened with one lane open.
The Agency of Transportation is working to clear up the rock slide and assess the potential of the safety in the area and the potential for additional slides.
