SPRINGFIELD, Vt. -
Vermont State Police have identified the driver of the car that hit a pedestrian in Springfield Monday night.
They say 34-year-old Michael Buxton of Chester was driving the car that hit 23-year-old Jordan Pfenning in front of the McDonald's on Chester Road. Pfenning later died from his injuries.
Police have not said yet whether Buxton will face any charges.

SPRINGFIELD — Police have released the name of the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in front of McDonald’s last week.
Springfield police said Michael Buxton, 34, of Chester, was the driver who fatally hit 23-year-old Jordan Pfenning at around 8:18 p.m. Nov. 9. Police have renewed their appeal for witness information, saying the investigation, being carried out with Vermont State Police, “remains active.”
Pfenning was initially transported to Springfield Hospital before being transferred by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., where he died from to multiple injuries the next day.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or any events leading immediately up to it is being asked to contact Springfield Police Sgt. Gregory Molgano at 885-2113.
