HCRS announces new staff members
SPRINGFIELD — Health Care and Rehabilitation Services (HCRS), Vermont’s second-largest community mental-health agency, is pleased to announce the appointment of five new professionals whose talents will augment HCRS’ services in the Hartford, Bellows Falls, Newfane and Brattleboro areas.
HCRS welcomes the following new employees (from left): Bailey LaFlam, behavioral interventionist in Hartford; Edith Richburg, residential specialist in Bellows Falls; Brennan Douglass, residential specialist in Bellows Falls; John Shaw, school-based clinician at Kindle Farm School; and Jedediah Popp, case manager in Brattleboro.
Founded in 1967, HCRS is a nonprofit, community mental health agency serving Vermonters in Windham and Windsor counties.

New "professionals." There is more turnover at this boondoggled organization than an apple fest food cart; they'll hire literally anyone. These fearless five will be gone in a few months.
ReplyDeleteHave to respect anyone in this community ambitious enough to work. Besides, a few months paying babysitter at HCRC is great incentive to pursue technical training and build a great career.
DeleteWorking with people in crisis is a very high-stress job. If you haven't noticed, it is also increasing in demand. Hence, the turnaround and the constant hiring of staff.
ReplyDeleteWhy is there such turn over? Is it the administration or the job? Seems like constant turmoil.
ReplyDeleteThat place is imploding. The senior leadership team has no clue what they are doing. The money wasted there is astronomical. The minute I quit, there will be a serious tell all.
ReplyDeleteJust in this last week I have seen 5 instances of wasteful time and mileage. Multiple trips to pick up consumers in other towns to give them rides home after work, insisting people work late even after the office was closed. The annual meeting last week must have cost a lot for catering! The list goes on and on....... wait for my tell all coming out soon. It'll be called HCRS, How Cash is Really Spent.
Oh, they know what they're doing. It's called milking it for all it's worth. Substance abuse, mental health, and most other publicly funded privately owned social sevices are scams that benefit the owners and upper managers. Been there, done that. Watch out for the non-disclosure agreement that I'm sure you were forced to sign!
DeleteMental health services is probably the most stressful, and even dangerous job there is. Think about it; you have to deal with all the people that society deems unfit to live among us. And these (often dangerous) people are PATIENTS, not prisoners. You have to TREAT THEM, not simply lock them up, and all for little more than minimum wage. I've done it; wallowing in other people's misery eight hours a day will tear you up pretty quick. I wish them luck, they'll need it.
