Staff Report
SPRINGFIELD — A Craftsbury Common woman is charged with mailing narcotics to an inmate at the state prison in Springfield.
Vermont State Police said that Tricia F. Bisson, 28, of Craftsbury Common, was arrested after an investigation revealed she had tried to mail a package containing suboxone (buprenorphine) last month.
Bisson was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of a narcotic, transportation of drugs into a house of detention and identity theft.
She was issued a citation to appear in White River Junction criminal court on Jan. 10, 2017.
State police said that Bisson had mailed the contraband to the inmate at Southern State Correctional Facility using another person’s identity.
Police said they were contacted by supervisors with the Department of Corrections on Nov. 17 about the incident, and Troop D detectives, along with detectives from the Derby barracks conducted the investigation.
