http://www.rutlandherald.com/article/20100503/NEWS02/5030375/1003/NEWS02 Man arrested in shooting incident • Rutland Herald • By Gordon Dritschilo STAFF WRITER - Published: May 3, 2010 • A Springfield man was arrested Saturday for allegedly firing a rifle into a passenger-filled vehicle and hitting a woman, according to police. • Springfield police said Timothy Decelle, 29, of Valley Street, will appear in White River Junction District Court Monday on charges of aggravated assault with a weapon, reckless endangerment and unlawful mischief. He was held for lack of $25,000 bail, police said. • Police said the alleged victim, Jenna Lavoie of Springfield, was hit in the leg and suffered injuries that were "not life threatening." • Officer Anthony Leonard said Decelle has a history of conflict with the victim's husband, John Lavoie, who was one of four other people in the car, during the past couple of years. • He said the incident, which took place on Valley Street at around 3:30 p.m., appeared to be the continuation of a dispute from earlier in the day, with the Lavoies and others driving to Decelle's home. • "The dispute from earlier in the day was something minor that should have stayed that way," Leonard said. While Leonard would not go into detail on the argument, he said Jenna Lavoie did not seem to be directly involved. • "She just appears to have been in the vehicle when it arrived," he said. • Police said Decelle and the occupants of the car exchanged threats before Decelle got a small-caliber rifle from his home and fired at the car. Jenna Lavoie was sitting in the rear seat when she was hit, police said, and was taken immediately to the Springfield Hospital. • Police said they arrested Decelle at home without incident. • The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information on it is asked to call Springfield Police at 885-2113. • http://www.rutlandherald.com/article/20100503/NEWS02/5030375/1003/NEWS02
