Kevin M. Forrest
SPRINGFIELD — Kevin Michael Forrest, 58, died June 19, 2010, with cancer.
He was born Feb. 22, 1952, in Springfield, the son of Hilton and Virginia (Aiken) Forrest.
He graduated from Springfield High School and Castleton State College.
Mr. Forrest began his writing career with the Springfield Reporter, Eagle Times and Rutland Herald. He spent many years as managing editor for the Vermont Standard and as contributor to New Hampshire Public Radio and USA Today. He most recently worked at Springfield Area Public Access Television creating local programs.
He was a musician and songwriter, starting in 1967 with a high school rock band, “The Illusion,” which is still playing today, and later played with Ronnie & The Poorboys, Brown Trout & The Lunkers and LaDeDa.
Survivors include a sister, Maureen Vath; three daughters, Lisa, Elyse, Betsy, and a son, Patrick; two grandchildren; his companion, Linda LaBonte; three uncles, an aunt, three nephews, two nieces and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother Gary and sister Michelle.
The celebration of his life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, July 2, at the Hartness House Inn in Springfield.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield.
