http://www.rutlandherald.com/article/20100621/NEWS02/706219899 # # # # Police charge Springfield man with DUI • Rutland Herald • Staff report - Published: June 21, 2010 • A 25-year-old Springfield man was found by police sleeping in his car on the side of Interstate 91 early Sunday morning and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. • Police said Jason Crowley had a blood alcohol level of 0.168, twice the legal limit for driving in Vermont, shortly after he was found asleep in his 1999 Audi in the travel lane on a dangerous curve of the highway at 1:30 a.m., according to information from state police. • According to police, troopers found Crowley behind the steering wheel and the police couldn’t wake him. • When police pulled the man from the car, his foot hit the accelerator and the car, which was in drive, traveled south down the highway without a driver. • The car ultimately left the roadway and struck the ledges, according to police. • Crowley said he was diabetic, but when his blood sugar was checked, it was found to be fine. • Crowley was charged for DUI and taken to the Southern State Correctional Facility. •
