Holistic Management International has partnered with Small and Beginner Farmers of New Hampshire (and other agencies in 5 other northeastern states) to offer a Whole Farm Planning course, paid through a Department of Agriculture grant. This 10 session course normally costs $1,500 and we are now taking applications for 15 places in the course. We are looking for farmers who can make a serious commitment to attending sessions and doing some preparation in between meetings. • Application deadline is October 29th. • During the course, participants should be able to write a holistic plan for their farm, including a business plan, grazing or crop rotations plans, and infrastructure plan, This is an amazing opportunity to become part of a supportive group of women, hone your business skills and really look at what it is you want from farming (and life). • This year, we are moving the location of the first six workshops north. We will meet on Saturdays in North Haverhill in hopes that farmers from Coos and other northern areas can more easily participate. Vermont and New Hampshire are collaborating, and Vermont is offering the series on Tuesdays in White River Junction or Springfield, Vermont. • New Hampshire dates: Saturdays 9 AM to 3:30 PM UNH Cooperative Extension Office, North Haverhill NH December 4th for the introduction January 8th and 22nd (29th as snow date) February 12th and 26th March 12th (26th as snow date) The final four sessions will be farm visits, hopefully by June – to be determined by participants. • Vermont dates: Tuesdays 9:30 AM to 4 PM location tba – White River Junction or Springfield VT December 14 Jan 11, Jan 25 Feb 8, Feb 22 March 8, March 22 (reserved for snow date make-up) • For more information, contact me • Kate Kerman • leader@sbfnh.org • (603) 876-4562 •
