This week they will be decorating them and also creating centerpieces for sale.         Everyone is invited to come join in the festivities to enjoy the holiday decorations and many trees that the club members will have added to transform The Fullerton Inn into "A New England Christmas." Delicious hors d'oeuvres, created by the Fullerton Chef and his staff, will be served along with wine and cider.         Special trees will be decorated by the Springfield Town Employees, TARPS, The Country Treasures and the Adult Day Care along with the very beautiful Scherenschnitt tree of intricate paper-cut designs created by the Garden Club members.         The cost is $30 per person which can be paid at the door. This gala event is the fundraiser by the Springfield Garden Club which supports their many civic beautification projects, gardens and plantings in the local areas of Chester, Weathersfield and Springfield. The club consists of members from 8 different surrounding local communities. Other projects supported by this fundraiser are Garden Therapy for Senior citizens at the Adult Day Care, Senior Housing and flower arrangements delivered with Meals on Wheels once a month to clients.         The Springfield Garden Club awards two scholarships a year - totaling $4000 a year - to local young people studying in the fields of natural sciences, conservation, environmental studies, forestry or horticulture. The Garden Club is pleased to announce that they have awarded a continuing scholarship to Jessica Boucher, a 2007 graduate of Springfield High School who is majoring in biology, specializing in the study of marine mammals and conservation issues, at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. The club also supported her with a scholarship during her freshman year. The other student recipient this year who has received a continuing award is Ben Bolaski who is pursuing Environmental Studies at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH. Each year the Garden Club accepts applications for these scholarships from the wider area surrounding Springfield including Weathersfield, Chester, Springfield and Cavendish.         The following businesses have shown their support by becoming Corporate Sponsors of the event: Lane Eye Associates, Sunshine Acres, Springfield Housing Authority, A.C.
