Mill River goalie Courtney Ley returned from her illness and played well, making 15 saves. But Abi Cox scored the late goal to send the Cosmos home happy. Mill River coach Dave Carr had his players give extra attention to Springfield’s Sarah Locke and Cox. “We watched them like a hawk,” Carr said. Standing out for the Minutemen were sweeper Ellie Hasenohr and halfback Marie Mangundayao. The Minutemen take a 1-3 record into Saturday’s home game against Brattleboro.
