Treaty threatens gun rights
Thank you, Mr. Jeff Taylor, for your scathing review of my ignorance pertaining to the U.N. arms trade treaty. Your naivete that the U.N. treaty will have any effect on anything is the epitome of ignorance. They couldn’t even enforce the rules at a tiddlywinks contest. They are about the most useless organization ever and should be abolished.
As I said in my letter, the provision protecting American gun rights is a Trojan horse to get it ratified. Once ratified, there are forces within that will work diligently to get it rescinded and there would be nothing we could do to stop it, so let’s not sign on to it in the first place. Remember, once it is ratified, it supersedes the American Constitution.
Someone asked Admiral Yamamoto, after his successful attack on Pearl Harbor, why he didn’t continue on to the mainland. His reply: “Are you crazy? Those Americans all have guns.” Let’s be assured of keeping it that way by not signing on.
As for Sen. Leahy, I stand by my remarks.
