A look inside Spencer Hollow School

On Saturday, Don Whitney hosted an open house inside the oldest brick school house in Vermont. He and his group Friends of Spencer Hollow School are restoring it.

The single classroom as it looks from the west corner.  The modern looking wood stove is a replacement for the original which was stolen years ago.

View from the north corner.  A small kitchen area is visible through the doorway.

Don Whitney went to school here as a kid and started the restoration project a few years ago.

A 3 holer from old school days still in place, with daylight beaming up from the seat missing its lid.
