Official had dinner with VTel CEO just before $5 million grant

Email records indicate that Karen Marshall, the state’s former broadband czar, had dinner with Michel Guité, the CEO of VTel one day before Marshall voted for final approval of a $5.07 million state grant for VTel.

  2. Will she purchase a property in Springield and pay the town's exorbitant property and school tax rates? If so, leave her alone!

the people at the top could replace everybody with a paid for chrony cousin that just got them $5 million and it would be easy for them to pay the taxes... They just overthrew you in 1 move.

  3. Who cares. VTel is doing wonderful things for our town and always does. If they left our town would sink even further into a sad abyss.

    2. They support the schools, donate money for field trips, hire local people at competitive pay for jobs of that caliber... Gosh, even the building is always kept nice... Think about other companies that gave up and moved out. Look at the ratio of local people working there as opposed to out of town. Some of their top people graduated from SHS, and they have worked there a long time. Those are all remarkable things for Springfield. People might like to joke about VTel's CEO, but luckily he obviously doesn't care.
