  1. Everything is FREE! Springfield Medical Care Systems still refuses to publicly voice objections to the pending Biomess Plant being built that will endanger the health of Springfield's citizens. Why? $$$$$?

    1. @ anonymous 11:20- It's non-profit 101. You cannot lobby for a certain activity like this. Its the illegal for them to do so and could result in the loss of their tax exempt status.

    2. Baloney. They can certainly speak out about the known facts concerning the health risks that the plant will impose upon the citizens of Springfield and the surrounding countryside. Plenty of non-profits constantly openly come out against these types of plants.

That doesn't apply to love, 2/26/13.....

Humans are perhaps the only species that can create and engage in win-win situations. It would be nice to build from that starting point.

    3. Interesting argument Anonymous 1:08, the logic of which when extended as a matter of policy would result in a return to the law of the jungle as advocated by Anonymous 6:16. However, is it not true that sometimes when you take, say from a wealthy class, and invest say in public health that it frequently in the long term benefits the class from which the funds were taken? So should we tax the primary beneficiaries of all government policies? Or just whine when the initial beneficiaries are the poor? I mean we also take money to pay monstrous amounts of money to station naval ships more or less permanently in the the Middle East to protect the oil industry investments, should we therefore cut the defense budget severely? Just curious where that argument actually goes? or is it just one that conservatives pull out of their pockets when they really have nothing of substance to contribute but exhalation of rather vacuous hot air.
